On 15th August 1989 friends with social service attitude came together at Ahankari Hospital, Omerga under the guidance of Rotary Club Solapur North. The credit of landing the foundation stone of Omerga club goes to GSR Bandu Anna Pundippale and Anil Gunjotikar in 1989. Rotary Club of Omerga got charter on 12th April 1990.
Introduction of young and enthusiastic members was predominant in 2005-06 when Rtn. Pradeep Jadhav Patil was president of the club. Then another Pradeep (Chalukya) of our club also taken pains to increase the involvement of young and dynamic members in the club during 2006-07.
The Rotary Year 2007-08 was proved to be the best year as the club was recognized as one of the active clubs in the district due to consistent efforts of Rtn. Deepak as a President during 2007-08. As a recognition Rtn. Deepak has received the "Best President Award" by the district.
The enthusiastic President Rtn. Dr Nitin Loharekar and Secretary Rtn. Ravi Alange conducted various projects in all avenues during 2008-09. All the Rotarians worked on the RI theme entitled “Make Dream Real”. The achievement was the club honoured with "Balanced Program Trophy".
The club has conducted various public relations and service project during 2009-10. Rtn. Shivnand Dalagade, the President of RC Omerga with energetic Secretary Rtn. Dr Laxmikant Diggikar worked on various service projects on the RI theme "Future of the Rotary in Your Hand". As the achievement of the year, Club received "Second prize for Public Relation" and Third prize for "Save Girl Child Project".
The year 2010-11 was known for the RC Omerga’s dynamic President Rtn. Shamim Pathan and Secretary Rtn. Sidram Khyade's service projects in all avenues. They have conducted club activities and meeting in a very systematic way. They believed that attendance in district events will help in the sustenance of the club. This year, our club has successfully organized "PET-SET at Hyderabad". The achievement of the club was we got "First Awards in Literacy Project" and "Second Award Club Administration".
"Reach Within to Embrace Humanity" was the RI theme of the Rotary year 2011-12 when club’s dynamic president Rtn. Laxmikant Diggikar and Secretary Manish Soni have taken charge. They have conducted various socio-economic activities during 2011-12 to achieve the aim of the theme of Rotary international. The outstanding achievement of our club was "First ever matching grant project sanctioned for 359 cataract operations".
The Rotary theme of the year 2012-13 was "Peace through Service". Again the Rotary year 2012-13 is remarkable due to activities conducted by our Youngest President and Secretary Rtn. Nitin Hole and Rtn. Sanjay Dhone, respectively. They have taken outstanding efforts to make our club as a Best Club in the district. Club has worked on all the avenues for its service projects Rtn. Nitin and Rtn. Sanjay. The club honoured with "16 Awards" by the district for the service projects and activities around the year.
